Time flies
I can hardly believe it's already October! Bailey's kittens are 12 weeks old now and so much fun. They are underfoot all the time and so involved in what we are doing. Today I briefly sat on the couch to talk on the phone and I instantly had 5 cats sitting on me at once purring and wanting attention. When I stopped petting one it would meow for me to continue. It was very cute. They are very playful - we stop playing when I get tired, because they seem to be able to play endlessly. You would think I could wear them out, but nope...they wear me out! They are a fun group and I'm kind of surprised that they will be gone in just a couple weeks.

Ida's 3 red boys are doing really well and are starting to wonder out of the nest a little bit on their toddler legs. It's fun to see them exploring.
And we have new kittens! Nova and her babies are all doing well. We can't wait to see what she has as they get a little older.

I've been really postponing this announcement ;-).
Little Apple Lodi is retired and we are looking for a new family for her. She is beautiful and has a wonderful personality. She loves to sleep on the nightstand right next to my head at night and loves drinking water out of the faucet. She is also show marked and could be shown if someone was interested in that. She turned 2 years old on August 28th and is ready for her new home at any time. If you are interested, contact us by email or phone for more information. Thanks!

Lots of fun

We are in a busy time here at Little Apple and having a lot of fun!
Clara's kittens are almost ready for their new homes and we are getting them all ready to go. They are so much fun and while we will miss having them here we are so excited to have their new families meet them.
Lodi's kittens are getting close to going home as well. "The girls" as we call them, are busy playing with the younger kittens and making us laugh.
Bailey's kittens are the young bunch and it is so funny to watch them running around playing with the older kittens. They look so small in comparison. But don't think smallness means that they are holding back...they are involved in everything!
Just this weekend we had our newest kittens by Ida and Devon. They are still super tiny, but it's so sweet to see the little pile of kittens when I go in to visit them.

Missing Them
Here is a group shot from a couple weeks ago of our kittens. Most of these are now at their new homes and I'm missing them. The rest of the kittens start going home today and I'm both happy and sad. Happy for their families to finally get to meet them and sad that they are leaving. Anyway, I was looking back at some of the group pictures we have of them and thought I would share this one. We hardly ever post group pictures, mainly because it's hard to get "in focus" pictures of a group of moving, active kittens. This is as close as we ever get! It's fun to try, though - and I always long to capture a picture of all the kittens filling our ottoman as we relax on the couch...or playing with the wand toy when we have play time in the evening. Someday I might capture the moment perfectly...if I take enough pictures :-).

Long Overdue
Wow! I can't believe it's been almost a month since my last blog post. I have been busy with facebook and pretty much forgot that I needed to keep up with my blog as well :-). We are in the middle of sending home all our summer kittens. Dora's kittens are at home and Nova's go home this week. We have a couple more weeks with Ida's before they will be gone as well. It is always sad to see them leave, but we enjoy all the stories we hear back about them in their new homes.
We have two groups of younger kittens (Clara and Lodi's litters) that are starting to make their way out of the nest. They will start exploring the whole house about the time our summer kittens are gone, so we will have no lag time between these two groups (just the way I like it!).
Anyway, if you are missing my more frequent updates you might check us out on Facebook "Little Apple Ragdolls" since I seem to be keeping up with that better than the blog right now.

Lodi and Devon's kittens!
We knew we were expecting kittens sometime soon, but we were surprised
when it was Lodi that had them this morning instead of Almata! We had Lodi's due date all
wrong apparently. She and the kittens are doing well...and soon we
should have some Almata kittens too. It's going to be a crazy weekend.

Pictures!
We just posted a bunch of new scrapbook updates with pictures of Little Apple kittens with their new families. Some of them are all grown up now and it's fun to see them again. You will have to look all the way to page 7 on our scrapbook to see some of the new pictures and updates!
We also just posted pictures of our Ida Red and Devon kittens born April 12, 2012. They are beautiful and fun kittens and we are so glad to finally be introducing them.

New Pictures and new kittens
We posted the pictures of our Dora and Nova kittens recently. See our kitten page to meet all of them. They are a beautiful and fun bunch of kittens. They are starting to run the whole house and as always it is fun to watch them exploring and learning.
We are planning to post pictures of Ida Red's kittens in another couple of weeks, so you will get to meet them soon!

Little Update
If you follow our blog regularly you might have noticed that my blog posts are getting a little less frequent lately. We now have a facebook page (Little Apple Ragdolls) and I tend to post more frequent updates there. Like us if you are missing out on the updates. I will continue to post blogs as well, but they might continue to be less frequent so we can spend more time with our little kittens. We have just finished sending off Almata's kittens and as always, the house seems a little too quiet without them. Dora and Nova's kittens are starting to litter train, though - so it will hopefully not be too long before they can start running the house and making all the wonderful kitten noises and fun we miss so much. We will be starting to post pictures of Dora and Nova's kittens the middle of May for reservations, so keep your eyes open for the notification of when we will be posting their pictures or get on our email list if you don't want to miss it!

Full house
Almata's kittens are almost ready for their new homes. They will be leaving in about 2 weeks and we are enjoying them while we still have them. They love to run around the house and love to snuggle with me when I'm sitting down or sleeping. In fact, one of them is sitting behind me as I'm writing this (he would really rather be on my lap!).Dora's kittens are almost 4 weeks old now. They are starting to walk out of their nest and explore the room. They will start litter training very soon and are starting to play with me when I come into the room. They have been playing with each other for a little while and it's always fun to sit in their room and watch them toddle around.
Nova and Sweet Pippin's kittens were born April 1st and are almost 2 weeks old. Their eyes are starting to open and the color is starting to come in on their faces. It will still be a week or two before we know for sure their colors and patterns, but it is fun to start to guess what we have. They are mainly eating and sleeping right now, but they have also started to purr when I pet them and they will roll over on to their backs to let me rub their bellies. It's so fun!Just this morning Ida Red and Devon's kittens were born. Ida did really well during the delivery and both her and the kittens are all doing well. The kittens are already purring when they nurse. It's such a sweet sound!

Spring is in the air
Spring is in the air and with it a little fur! Yes, it is shedding season and all cats (even Ragdolls) are shedding their winter coats to prepare for the summer. This time of year we typically groom our cats a little more to help with the shedding process and after dragging our feet a long time we finally decided to try the furminator to see what all the hype was about. We hesitated to spend so much money on a brush for our cats, but we are very glad we made the investment. It is amazing how much fur we were able to get out of just one cat in just about 5 minutes of brushing. This is going to help our cats a lot!

First spring kittens are here!
Our first kittens of the spring arrived early this morning. Adorabelle (Dora) and Sweet Pippin are the parents. Mom and the kittens are all doing well. I will post more updates to our facebook page "Little Apple Ragdolls" about how things are going with the kittens. If you are interested in knowing more you can "like" us for updates.

Quiet
Our house officially feels empty. I know I still have more cats/kittens than most people, but with all my little ones gone to their new homes it's very quiet here. Thankfully, it appears that Almata's kittens are litter trained, so in just a little bit they will be running the house!

More scrapbook updates!

We had a few new scrapbook additions come in right after we did the last round, so we posted the new ones tonight. It's so fun to hear back about our kittens. And this time we have an update on one of our retired breeders as well.

What's new on our website
We have been working a little here and there on our website, trying to get caught up with all the changes we want and need to make. So this is what's new so far and there will be more to come.1. We "finally" posted our new breeders on our breeder page. I know we have been very slow in doing this. I have no excuses - well, actually I have a lot, but I won't use them :-). Anyway, you can see all our current breeders now.
2. We made a new retired breeder page, since our breeder page was getting a little full. We wanted people to still be able to see the breeding cats we started with, since they are the foundation for what we have now.
3.
Scrapbook updates! We always love when people write to share pictures and stories about their Little Apple kittens. Thankfully, many of them agree to let us post their fun pictures and notes on our scrapbook. Take a look at our scrapbook to see some of the new entries. You will have to go back a few pages to see some of the updates!4. When using our contact us form you will notice a new "phone number" box. We are highly recommending that people use this when contacting us. Occasionally email is not very reliable and it helps for me to have more than one way to contact you if you are looking for a kitten :-).

Leaps and bounds
Almata's little ones are growing in leaps and bounds. I thought I would share a picture of them. Their eyes are starting to open and I love watching them crawl around mom. With their little round bellies it seems hardly possible that they would be able to move as fast as they do.Lodi and Ida's kittens are running all over the house now. They have found the upstairs and are exploring the "new" places. It's a fun time!

Coming and going

We are excited and a little sad to see Nova's kittens going to their new homes this weekend. We will miss them, but know their families will have so much fun with them. This "going" phase is always hard, but thankfully we have some more kittens coming! We are expecting Almata's first litter of kittens any day now. We are excited to see how many she has!
Ida and Lodi's kittens are coming and going all over the house now :-). It's fun to watch them exploring and learning new things.
